New Website Design
Vizual has volunteered to help with a resdesign of the website. Most of the functionality seems to be in place, but the goals are:
- Make the website more effective. Make it easier for web search engines to pick-up the pages, make the navagation more effective, and enhance the calls to action.
- Make the website easier to maintain. Make some of the screens database driven, include templates and other technical enhancements.
- Update the look-and-feel of the website.
4/08: Intial kick-off meeting with Vizual.
5/08: Site map and first round of redesigns have been done, posted.
6/08: Feedback has been gathered and second round of designs is being done.

Data Capture - Phase II (Intranet)
See overview here. This system will include posting of documents, updated security (groups and permissions), and tracking of background checks. In addition, with the update of the website design, a number of the screens will be database driven (for example news releases, local chapter officers, wishlists, etc...) - this phase will incorporate screens to allow updates by chapter volunteers themselves.
Ongoing: Gathering requirements.
Forum Update
Split the file repository from the forum and move it to the file exchange within the intranet. Update the forum to a more recent version. Attempt single sign-on between email, forum, and intranet.
Online Agency Resource Systems
This system will allow the public to recommend services and resources by city for kids. They will be vetted and posted online. The beginings of the requirements document is posted here.
Ongoing: Gathering requirements.
Email cleanup project
With the high turn-over of personnel, we have over 800 email addresses. The problem is that correspondence to an inactive email address may cause people to believe StandUP doesn't care, so we'd like to elinate inactive email addresses. The plan is to send an email to every account asking users to respond. A program would process the results and after sixty days any accounts that did not respond will be deleted.
Spring, 2008: Created a database of all oustanding email addresses.
